Lake Forest is a majestic community located in Orange County, California. When United States federal workers conducted the 2010 census, they reported that Lake Forest had a population just over 77,000. Officially established in 1991, Lake Forest was originally known as “El Toro.”

What’s Behind That Name?

So why “Lake Forest?” There are two lakes in Lake Forest, California: lake one, managed by the Lake Forest Beach and Tennis Club, and lake two, maintained and operated by the Sun and Sail Club. The man-made “forest” in question is located between Ridge Route, Jeronimo, Lake Forest and Serrano roads and is comprised primarily of Eucalyptus oxygen-suckers.
